eggs everywhere ... Happy Easter Saturday, the day of neighborhood Easter Eggs hunts, lots of found eggs, and some lost eggs (that get found when someone's nose finds them days later), and a time families choose the bright colors that let them celebrate the pure joy of Easter Sunday, a day or renewal. Tomorrow morning many children wake up to discover the Easter Bunny has left them baskets of candy and has also hidden the eggs they decorated earlier that week. Some families will let the kids have a piece of candy or two before church while others have them set everything aside for later in the day. But the kids can't wait so they almost always find the eggs before church, and then ask mom and dad to hide them again .... Did you ever wonder how the Easter Bunny and eggs came together; after all, bunnies don't lay eggs. Well, the custom of the Easter Egg began because children believed hares laid eggs in the grass. The Romans believed "All life comes from an egg." And since rabbits have frequent multiple births the rabbits became of symbol of fertility. Some Christians consider eggs to be "the seed of life" so they are symbolic of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. So the bunnies and the eggs are forever linked as harbingers of the premier day of hope, the day Christ rose from the dead, Easter morning. Much of America, and virtually all the media, are now so wrapped up in the secular, anti-religious way of life (Public schools have spring break but not Easter break) you will find it difficult to hear or read of the true meaning of Easter from anyone other than family and your church. But especially for those of us who work from home, a sense of renewal, of optimism is necessary every day of the week. Therefore, we think it makes sense to accept the spirit of Easter, no matter your religious or other inclinations, and give yourself a moment of renewed enthusiasm for life, for your work and for how you will live your life when you are financially secure. But it's good to keep Good Friday in mind and remember it took tremendous sacrifice to attain the joy of Easter Sunday, and sacrifice can lead to joy if you just let it. Now don't forget where you hid the eggs ...
